Home based transcription company looking for a contract typist to perform transcription from your home of large audio files. Must have high speed internet, Word, Express Scribe, headset and a foot pedal. Perfect for someone just starting out and looking to add references to your profile. Audio files are 1-2 hrs in length, teleconferences and require a 24-hr turnaround. Amount of weekly work is not guaranteed. All work fluctuates depending on clients needs. A no-compete agreement will be required. REMEMBER: If an audio files is 2 hrs in length, it will take you a minimum of 4 hrs to type up and proof read and this is for experienced typists! |

Experienced transcriber needed for periodic overflow work.
The material is typically academic or corporate in nature – focus groups, meetings, interviews, documentary footage, oral histories, dictations, etc. Typically, ums and uhs are not required, though in certain cases a completely verbatim transcript may be asked for.
File format is MP3, WAV, WMV (video), and occasionally RM (video).
The rate offered is a flat $45 per recorded hour, prorated to the minute. The work is very flexible, and assignments can be accepted or declined per your schedule.
Payment is made biweekly via check or PayPal.

Assists with support functions to ensure optimal efficiency within the department. Experience: Six months experience utilizing a word processing system preferred.
