TRANSCRIPTIONIST: Full time opening for a qualified candidate who possesses a minimum education level of associate degree or equivalent work experience (2 years transcribing dictation from a hospital or physician office) and continuing education from a school of transcription. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, clinical medicine, surgery, diagnostic tests, radiology, pathology, pharmacology, and the various medical specialties. Knowledge of medical transcription guidelines and practices. Excellent written and oral communication skills, including English usage, grammar, punctuation, and style. Ability to understand diverse accents and dialects and various dictation styles. Certified Medical Transcriptionist (CMT) status preferred. Minimum experience level of two years (more preferred) in an acute care setting using medical terminology in a variety of services. Must be able to sit for certification examination within one year of date of hire.
