This position involves primarily sedentary work with continuous use of earphones, keyboard, foot control and video display terminal. This position transcribes medical dictation to provide a permanent record of patient care. Candidate must understand and comply with policies and procedures related to medico-legal matters including confidentiality and appropriate disclaimers. Extensive training provided in-house. Upon completion of training, employees may opt to work from home. At-home employees must be local to Bangor or have Verizon for local calling service. Job Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent required. Must have knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology. Must be able to operate Word processing, dictation and transcription equipment. 3-5 years experience preferred. Completion of a comprehensive transcription course preferred. Holiday rotation required. |
