Job Description:
   Job Title: Transcription Specialist Job Code: 10313 Position Type: Full Time Actual Location: Home Based Job Description Hours per week: 40 This full-time, primarily 2nd shift medical language specialist performs quality reviews on a representative sample of transcribed reports from WMH staff and transcription service staff. Will participate in interviewing, training and orienting new transcription staff, along with assisting in development and implementation of policies and procedures in the transcription area. QUALIFICATIONS: Graduate of Medical Transcription/Secretary Program and/or 1 to 2 years of previous acute care transcription experience. Certified Medical Transcriptionist status desirable. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, surgery, radiology, pathology, pharmacology and other various specialties. Knowledge of general medical transcription guidelines and practices is required. Excellent written and oral communication skills, including English usage, grammar, punctuation, and style. Ability to understand diverse accents and dialects and varying dictation styles. Ability to work under pressure with time constraints. HOURS: Full-time, primarily on 2nd shift, 1 pm to 9 pm. No weekends or holidays. This position is home based.
