Under the supervision of the Transcription Leadership Team, the Transcriptionist is responsible for accurate and timely transcription of dictated medical reports. Revolving weekends and holidays are a part of the transcriptionist's schedule.

Requirements:

• High School graduate or equivalent with successful completion of specialized schooling such as a transcription certificate program preferred.
• Associate Degree or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience preferred.
• Certified Medical Transcriptionist (CMT) preferred.
• Minimum 1 year experience with acute care transcription in multiple specialty disciplines.
• Ability to transcribe an average of 95 minutes or more of dictation in eight hours.
• Excellent eye, hand and auditory coordination.
• Good working knowledge of medical terminology with courses in medical terminology, anatomy, physiology and microbiology preferred.
• Must be able to hear dictation.
• Must be able to work in an at-home environment.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with other staff members.
• Must be able to pass tests in transcription and proofreading.
