Primary Duties: The primary duty of the medical transcriptionist is transcribing medical dictation maintaining the quality standard at 98%. The will use the Book of Style for Medical Transcription as their required reference guide, and meet contracted productivity requirements of 160 lines per hour (which may be subject to change). Skilled medical transcriptionists will have a broad knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, disease processes, signs & symptoms, medications and lab values. They must also be proficient in English usage, grammar, punctuation and style. This transcriptionist will have the opportunity to work from home, once productivity and quality standards are met. The timeframe for the move from in-house to home is dependant upon the performance of the individual.

Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent. Preference may be given to candidates who possess certification as a medical transcriptionist (CMT). Candidates should have at least one year of experience in medical transcription, with a preference for acute care-based experience. Candidates should also have completed a medical terminology course, and have demonstrated skills in English usage, grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure. Candidates must be willing to work all shifts.

Schedule: For training, hours will be 7:30am to 4pm, Monday through Friday. Permanent shift to be determined.
